Xunpeng (Roc) Shi
- President, International Society for Energy Transition Studies Professor, University of Technology Sydney
Professor Shi is the President of the International Society for Energy Transition Studies (ISETS), which boasts over 1,400 members from 70 countries. He is a Professor of Energy and Environmental Economics and Sustainability at the University of Technology Sydney, as well as a Research Principal at UTS Australia-China Relations Institute. Currently, he advises UN ESCAP on the sustainable development of critical minerals, as well as Global Gas Center (GGC) and the APEC Sustainable Energy Center (APSEC).
He has worked in the energy and mining sector for nearly 30 years in roles spanning industry, government and research institutes in Australia, Brunei, China, Indonesia, Singapore, and an international organisation. His research interests encompass a wide scope of topics, including resources, energy, climate change, and other environmental issues, within the fields of economics, policy, and sustainable development. His regional focus includes Australia, China, Southeast Asia, and Northeast Asia.
He has published over 300 papers and articles and holds an h-index of 50 and an i10-index of 151, according to Google Scholar (as of July 2024).
