The Learning Continues: Winning teams converge in Bangkok for Special Training 

The winning teams of the 2023 APRU-SDG4GC Social Innovation Pitching Competition were flown to Bangkok, Thailand to participate in a 1-week special training program from May 14-19. The program included intensive Design Sprint workshops at Chulalongkorn University as well as field trips to local businesses to learn and exchange more about innovative practices in both urban and rural settings.  

Participants visited the Gran Monte Vineyard and Winery to learn about sustainable viticulture practices and environmental preservation. 

NABSOLUTE is a spin-off company of Chulalongkorn University that is turning research into healthcare solutions. Participants visited to find out more about the company’s innovations. 

During May 17-18, 2023, the participants also had the opportunity to observe a key United Nations event (see below) and actively engage in special side events, including “Acceleration of Climate Action: Engagement and Empowerment of Youth for the Future” and “Youth and Sustainability Challenges and UNDP programs.”

All participants in the 2022-2023 APRU-SDG4GC program explored a range of issues around the central theme of Shaping the Future of Health & Wellbeing. This involved integrating multiple disciplines and practices to deepen understanding of the social, cultural, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, mental, physical, and economic aspects. The special onsite training program was a rewarding experience that emphasized the importance of global citizenship and resilience.
