H.E. Asst. Prof. Dr. Bhanubhatra Jittiang
- Representative of Thailand to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) Thailand
H.E. Asst. Prof. Dr. Bhanubhatra Jittiang is the Representative of Thailand to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) (2025 – 2027). He is also an assistant professor in the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, where he also holds the positions of Deputy Dean for Graduate Studies and Founding Director of the Nelson Mandela Center for Conflict Resolution, Atrocity Prevention, and Human Security.
Dr. Jittiang also contributes to the public service, serving as an expert member on the national committee established under the Regulation of the Office of the Prime Minister on the Screening of Aliens Who Enter the Kingdom and Are Unable to Return to Their Country of Origin B.E. 2562 (also known as the National Screening Mechanism). He is also the drafter of Thailand’s national action plan for the reservation withdrawal of Article 22 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the co-author of reports evaluating Thailand’s alternatives to child detention initiative. Dr. Jittiang was recently appointed to the National Steering Committee on Human Rights.
Dr. Jittiang’s expertise includes forced migration and refugee studies, atrocity prevention, transnational security, transnational human rights, international development, and international conflicts.
