Asst. Prof. Dr. Kirati Khuvasanon

Asst. Prof. Kirati Khuvasanond is a Lecturer in the Elementary Division, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Faculty of Education at Chulalongkorn University. She obtained her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Kansas, U.S.A. in 2013, following Master’s degrees in Educational Leadership (Pittsburg State University, 2009) and Curriculum and Instruction (University of Kansas, 2008), and a B.A. in Business Arts from Assumption University (2005).
Dr. Khuvasanond’s research focuses on innovative pedagogical approaches in elementary education, particularly project-based learning and community-based learning. Her work investigates their impact on student engagement, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving. She has published extensively in national and international journals and has led and contributed to grants examining these learning models, including their use in educational innovation pilot schools.
Her research focuses on developing STEAM curricula that integrate soft skills, and she currently explores how international learning experiences—like COIL+—impact student leadership and collaboration. She believes that hands-on fieldwork, meaningful dialogue, and global teamwork can transform how students engage with sustainability.
Dr. Khuvasanond actively contributes to educational practices beyond research. She has held leadership roles at the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, including Assistant to the Dean (International), Assistant to the Dean (Academic), and Head of the Elementary Division. Her expertise in curriculum innovation has led to her appointment as a curriculum expert for pilot schools and a board member for the Satun Sand-Box. She also lectures on active learning and learning development.
