Dr. Muhammad Aizat bin Zainal Alam
- Deputy Director, Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC)
He is a Senior Lecturer at the Universiti Malaya in the Department of Economics, specializing in behavioural economics, financial literacy, and retirement planning. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science, a Master’s in Economics, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Malaya, where his research focused on retirement behaviour using machine learning techniques. His notable publications include studies on savings adequacy, mental accounting, and financial literacy.
Dr. Aizat is also a Research Associate at the Social Wellbeing Research Centre, contributing to projects on ageing, retirement, and social welfare. Before academia, he worked at the Securities Commission Malaysia, where he researched capital market regulations. He serves as an Associate Editor for the Institutions & Economies journal and is skilled in business writing, research methodologies, and policy-making, with certifications in machine learning applications.
