Asst. Prof. Dr. Hyun-Jung Bang

Dr. Hyun-Jung Bang is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, Kyushu University, Japan. She specializes in international education, STEAM education, and supporting career development for science and technology students.
As a former international student at Kyushu University, she now serves as the Coordinator for the International Undergraduate Program and supports students through both academic advising and intercultural mentoring. Since 2018, she has worked closely with international learners navigating their journeys in Japan.
Her research focuses on developing STEAM curricula that integrate soft skills, and she currently explores how international learning experiences—like COIL+—impact student leadership and collaboration. She believes that hands-on fieldwork, meaningful dialogue, and global teamwork can transform how students engage with sustainability.
As a mentor, she is passionate about helping students co-create practical, community-based solutions aligned with the SDGs while embracing diversity, empathy, and global citizenship.
