Mr. Piyapong Muenprasertdee

Piyapong Muenprasertdee holds a MS and B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering and an MBA focused in entrepreneurship, and was a Sustainability and Climate Change consultant specialized in carbon footprint accounting and LEED green building certification in one of his past professional lives. However, his true passion was always in music – especially DIY and indie music – therefore, sustainable development in the music industry has now become his lifetime goal. 

Currently, he is the Co-founder & Director of Educational, Governmental and Overseas Partnership of Fungjai – a music platform, events organizer and creative agency based in Bangkok, Thailand with a goal of contributing to the sustainable development of the music industry and helping the independent musician become a sustainable career. Fungjai connects artists and fans via various online and offline platforms, including a music streaming platform; an online magazine; social media channels; a concert organizing unit; an education activities unit; a live musician hiring platform for events and parties; and a music marketing agency/consultancy unit that works with brands to utilize the power of music in marketing campaigns. In addition, Fungjai works closely with Thai government agencies related to music such as the Creative Economy Agency (CEA) to help them better understand the music ecosystem and develop better development strategies for the industry. 

Apart from being well connected in the Thai independent music scene, he is also connected with music communities and professionals from all over the world, especially in Southeast and East Asia. In addition, he has spoken at several international music conferences including MaMA Festival & Convention in Paris, France; Seoul Music City Connection in Seoul, South Korea; GMA and Taiwan Beats in Taipei, Taiwan, etc. He was also a lecturer at the Faculty of Music of Silpakorn University and the Concert Engineering & Multimedia department of Srinakharinwirot University. 

He is also the co-founder of Thailand’s first music conference and showcase festival – Bangkok Music City (BMC), which was launched in November 2019; and the ASEAN Music Showcase Festival launched in September 2020.
