Dr. Nurul Nadhirah Othman

Dr. Nurul Nadhirah Othman is a Senior Lecturer at the Glami Lemi Biotechnology Research Centre, Universiti Malaya. Her research expertise includes plant tissue culture, species diversity, plant taxonomy, and systematics. She possesses extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in plant culture across a wide range of species. Dr. Nadhirah holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Botany from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), where she also completed her Master of Science in Plant Systematics and her Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Biology.
Dr. Nadhirah has also worked with the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI), where she contributed to research projects focusing on the tissue culture of various ginger large-scale production., She conducted spore culture of rare and endemic fern species in Peninsular Malaysia, marking the first conservation effort for ferns in Malaysia. Notably, she successfully cultured the first fern through in vitro culture in the country. As a Research Associate at LS Aquatic, Dr. Nadhirah was involved in tissue culture research on ornamental plants.
